Job Description: As the Solar Foreman, you are responsible for providing leadership and direction to a residential PV solar installation team. Your typical day is spent out on the job site overseeing solar installations, assisting in the installation of project systems, providing job instruction to each Solar Technician, and communicating the installation process to customers. You will have a strong ability to guide and motivate your team to install a PV solar system and assist installing a project that successfully passes city inspection. The Solar Foreman must ensure that all installation team members adhere to safety requirements and regulations and will give good feedback to the engineers, Construction, Project, and Operations Managers. The ideal candidate will have both solar installation and electrical experience, possess strong organizational and communication skills, and maintain a high work ethic.


• Install solar panels on various residential and commercial projects with the highest level of craftsmanship and workmanship
• Install all electrical portions of installations in a safe, high quality and efficient installation manner
• Oversee job sites on assigned solar install projects and provide communication on progress to Project Manager / Project Coordinator
• Check progress throughout the installation to ensure that installers are installing correctly
• Ensure all job sites have all materials, tools, and equipment to perform job safely and efficiently
• Cut, bend, thread and run electrical conduit materials, pull electrical wiring through electrical conduit, terminate electrical panels, set fixtures, outlets and various electrical devices
• Install and connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, outlets or other components and systems
• Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes
• Communicate to the General Foreman, Site Superintendent or Operations Manager potential problems encountered during construction that would affect the schedule or require added materials to be procured
• Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools
• Use and ensure the proper safety equipment and practices for safe installation with Cal OSHA compliance and adherence to corporate safety requirements and regulations
• Participate in safety and operations meetings
• Maintain consistent and appropriate interface with customer throughout construction phase

Desired Skills & Expertise:

• Minimum 1 year of Solar Installation experience;
• Commercial and residential electrical experience required;
• Follow instructions, clearly give instructions, and learn quickly;
• Professional appearance and customer interaction;
• Have a strong work ethic high level of craftsmanship/workmanship (strong attention to detail);
• Possess strong mechanical/construction skills;
• Have excellent organizational and time management skills;
• Have excellent verbal communication and documentation skills;
• Have good people skills, able to manage, motivate and discipline when necessary;
• Valid Driver’s License and passing of background check.

Physical Demands:

• Full range of mobility in upper and lower body;
• Ability to work in various positions, including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling and squatting for extended periods of time;
• Ability to lift, pull and push materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks;
• Ability to lift 30 pounds of weight frequently throughout assigned workday;
• Ability to work with electrical work involving wiring up to 600 VDC and 480 VAC.
